Father Daughter Getaways (Older Daughters) - Recent Feedback from Dads

Prior to engaging ‘Fathering Adventures’, I was struggling to connect with my daughter at a deeper level.
I had been actively trying to connect with her, however I was missing the mark.
I had been studying rites of passage, ancient paths, Jewish culture etc., and I was looking for ways of implementing them, when my wife found you.
This guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway has been a marvellous opportunity to build deeper rapport and connection with my daughter.
I am amazed by how much she has opened her heart to me.
And I also now have a deeper understanding of healthy womanhood.
This father daughter trip has far exceeded my expectations.
My favourite highlight from this father daughter getaway was our one-on-one Lunch on the hike up Bicton Hill, and the conversation we had over Lunch.
Beyond this father daughter trip, my daughter and I will have more Dad and daughter dates, and I am more confident of being able to speak into my daughter’s life.
And value for money of this experience is excellent, although I probably did question the cost initially.

(Peter – Age 63 – Cairns, QLD)

Prior to engaging ‘Fathering Adventures’, I had difficulty in opening conversations with my daughter, and I felt frustrated because my attempts to do so were not getting me anywhere.
This guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway has brought me closer to my daughter.
It has also helped assist in my daughter’s preparedness into womanhood.
My daughter is now opening up to me.
My favourite highlights from the experience were…
- The hike up Bicton Hill and the one-on-one Lunch with my daughter, and the conversation we shared was fantastic,
- Melissa’s presentation on authentic womanhood, and the video clips,
- Darren’s presentation for the fathers
, and
- Our time out at the outer Great Barrier Reef.
Beyond this experience, I intend on being more present in my daughter’s life and whatever she is going through, and organizing more bonding times with my daughter.

(Frank – Age 60 – Perth, W.A.)

My wife and I were needing a “rite of passage” experience for my daughter, for us to launch our daughter into adulthood, and clearly mark the occasion with purpose, ceremony, and deep meaning.
This guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway was a purpose-built experience that I couldn’t have created myself.  It was so very significant.
My daughter has risen to the occasion, and the whole experience will be remembered as a permanent and significant milestone in her life, and my life too.
‘Fathering Adventures’ provided the perfect environment and experience and knowledge to make all of this possible in a real way.

My favourite highlights from this father daughter trip were…
- In regards to outdoor adventure – The white water rafting, and
- In regards to power and significance – The Rite of Passage Ceremony on the final evening.
Beyond this father daughter getaway, life is going to look very different, as our last child has now reached adulthood.  That said, life will be fantastic, with strong and meaningful relationships with each of our adult children.

(David – Age 49 – Toowoomba, QLD)

Prior to engaging ‘Fathering Adventures’, I needed to connect a whole lot better with my daughter.
I thought I would have to just live through this stage that maybe all girls go through.
This guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway has meant the world to me.
I have never felt closer to my daughter.
I haven’t felt so emotional (in a good way), in a long time.  I felt safe being vulnerable.  I was in safe hands.  And it brought a whole lot of honest and much needed communication.

The moment I realized that this father daughter trip was helping me in my journey as a Dad, was during the flight here.
By the end of this father daughter getaway, we hugged properly for the first time in years.
My favourite highlight from this father daughter trip was the hike up Bicton Hill, and our conversation during our one-on-one Lunch together.
We were both beautifully prepared to truly listen to each other.

Beyond this father daughter getaway, life is going to be a whole lot better, although I do have to sort through a few of my own father / mother issues now.

(Tim – Age 48 – Geraldton, W.A.)

Prior to engaging ‘Fathering Adventures’, my greatest challenge as a Dad was communication.  My daughter’s responses to my questions were typically just one or two words at a time.  I felt like I was hitting a brick wall.
I found ‘Fathering Adventures’ whilst looking for a rite of passage experience for my daughter.
This guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway meant a lot to me.  It helped me to reconnect with my daughter at a deeper level, and helped me to see where I could really grow as a Dad.  And it also helped me to better understand my daughter, through having conversations we needed to have, and I treasure that.
My favourite highlight from this father daughter trip was our conversation during our one-on-one Lunch during the hike up Bicton Hill. Thank you.
This father daughter getaway was so well run, in so many ways, and everything was well thought out to maximise enjoyment.
And this father daughter trip was also fantastic in regards to value for money. I can’t put a dollar value on what we are taking away with us.

Father Daughter Getaways (Older Daughters) - Recent Feedback from Daughters

I agreed to join Dad for this guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway because Dad and I attended one of your guided “Fathering Girls” Father Daughter Camps at Mount Tamborine many years ago, which I enjoyed so much, and I love Dad so much, that it was a no-brainer. 😊
This father daughter trip has meant a lot to me, and will be a core memory of mine for the rest of my life.
It has really helped me to learn what being a woman means, and a reminder that I can’t go back.
The guided outdoor adventure activities were all well thought out to help us grow closer, and they helped me appreciate the more serious stuff more.
My favourite highlights were the white water rafting, and the epic conversation Dad and I shared on Bicton Hill.
I came here as a girl, but I am leaving as an aspiring woman. 😊
Thank you Darren and Melissa, for making this a thing. 😊

Prior to this guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway, my greatest challenge in my relationship with my Dad was not having much communication or time for each other. I just did my best to ignore that issue.
I agreed to join Dad for this father daughter trip because snorkelling, scuba diving, and white water rafting sounded fun, and I never say no to an adventure.
This father daughter getaway was really good and helpful in us talking about our issues, and helped me to learn more about my Dad, and his relationship with his parents.
My favourite highlight from this father daughter trip was the day of the hike, the conversation I shared with my Dad, asking questions, and sharing how I really feel.
The main specific benefits I received from this father daughter getaway were better communication – actually talking, and making time for each other.
Looking forward, Dad and I will do more activities together, will have more time with my Dad, and we will talk more.

(Aurora - Age 14 - Geraldton, W.A.)

Prior to this guided “Rite of Passage” 4 Night Father Daughter Getaway, my main challenge in my relationship with my Dad was sometimes not sharing stuff, or trying to hide my emotions.  We would argue and talk over one another, and not hear each other out.
I actually didn’t have a choice in joining Dad for this father daughter trip, but I was looking forward to spending time together and becoming closer.  It was really nice to talk about how we felt, and actually communicate.
My favourite highlights from this father daughter getaway were scuba diving, “The Internal Compass” presentation on Night 3, and the hike – asking questions and talking.
The main specific benefit I received from this father daughter trip was discovering the difference between a girl / insecure woman, and a healthy and beautiful woman.
Looking forward, I hope that we will be able to continue to talk more freely, and communicate well.
